Strengthening cyber security research

The European Union has decided to establish a European Cybersecurity Competence Centre and a network of National Cyber Security Coordination Centres. These centres are to strengthen the promotion of research and development in cyber security in a bundled manner.

Horizon Europe 2025: €90.55 Million for Research and Innovation in Cybersecurity

The European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) is launching the "Increased Cybersecurity" call for 2025 as part of the EU’s Horizon Europe research and innovation funding programme (Cluster 3: Civil Security for Society). With total funding of €90.55 million, the EU is setting clear priorities for research and innovation in the fields of cybersecurity, generative AI, and post-quantum cryptography.

Consultation on the future EU-budget

The European Commission (EC) published a press release on ‘The Road to the next Multiannual Financial Framework' and launched public consultations on seven central topics for the coming EU-budget. One topic focuses on 'EU funding for competitiveness'. All interested stakeholders and citizens are invited to send their answers to the EC until 6 Mai 2025.
